The Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel announced Wednesday that Germany will shut down restaurants, entertainment centers and cultural institutions for a month starting Monday.
However, schools and nurseries will remain open, said Merkel in a press conference.
This came as part of the new restrictions imposed to combat the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
The aim behind these nationwide "harsh" measures is to encourage social distancing and slow down the spreading of COVID-19.
